World Cup Fever in the Maths Department

This week the Aldenham Maths Department played host to the World Cup. With football fever over taking the country they modelled the competition using the actual group stages and seedings with each Key Stage 3 student managing a team. Mr Doidge devised a cleverly weighted game allowing them to play ‘matches’ and determine whether probability alone could predict the outcome of the event.

Each class had their own competition and early winners include Russia, Belgium and Croatia! Will the real teams be so lucky…..?
