There was a great turnout at the inaugural Netball Tournament which was held on Saturday 21 May to raise funds for sports kit for the Under 14,15 and 16 teams who are travelling to Marbella in the October half term. Well supported by staff, boys and girls from Years 7-13 (plus one Prep pupil) and parents from the Prep and the Senior Schools, this successful Tournament is the first of what is to be an annual event in the calendar. It is expected that as much as £600 will be raised once all the cake sale goodies have been sold.
Well done to everyone who took part, especially the winners: Muskaan’s Musketeers, winners of the junior tournament, made of up Year 8 pupils – Muskaan Iqbal, Abi Maughan, Daisy Fraser, Benita Omofade, Daniel Oyegoke, Rayon Atkinson, Zia Brown and Zak Brown.
School staff and friends who formed The Leg Ends of Aldenham emerged the winners of the senior competition. The team included Sam Dawe, Grant Cornock, Louise Gall, Elizabeth Hudson, Stuart Scott, Pat Reid, Andy Williams and Sam Pennycook.
Megan Yeabsley from Year 10 said “The netball tournament was really good fun and a great event for helping to raise money for the kit that the netball players are going to need in Marbella. We raised a lot of money and we are very thankful to everyone who took part.”
