Aldenham School, Founded 1597

Fifth Annual Brewers’ Lecture at Aldenham

It was certainly appropriate that the 5th Brewers’ Lecture held in The Wells Centre at Aldenham be presented by the Charles Wells Brewery. Paul Wells who is the Chair of Directors at the company and also Master at Brewers’ Hall, and Ian Jones the Head Brewer at CW delivered a detailed presentation covering the long history of the brewing process and the many job opportunities it offers today. With his extensive experience in the industry Ian Jones spoke passionately about his career in brewing which has taken him around the world since he left university.

Arranged through our close links with the Brewers’ Company, one of the oldest livery companies in the City of London, this event reinforces links with the School dating back to its foundation in 1597 by Richard Platt himself a brewer.

Following the presentation everyone moved to the Sixth Form Centre for the popular beer tasting to learn more and sample the actual product. Ian Jones expertly guided the session.
