BAFTA Young Games Designers Success
Many congratulations to Year 8 students Edie Sunman, Clelia Alishah, and Lillie Henchley on reaching the finals of the prestigious BAFTA Young Games Designers award, a national competition to find the best game ideas and budding games designers.
This competition supports, promotes and develops the art forms of the moving image by identifying and rewarding excellence, inspiring practitioners and benefiting the public. The group have now been invited to BAFTA headquarters in London where they will meet leading games industry figures, get mentorship from professionals actively working in games and receive a host of other amazing prizes.
Their game idea 'the unBEARable winter' is aimed at 6 to 10 year olds and features cute animals, important quests and 3D graphics. It is an amazing achievement for the girls to make it through to the finals of these awards, out of all the thousands of entries received, the unBEARable winter has been judged to be one of the best. Mr Chandler and Dr Mepham were extremely impressed with their game idea and we wish them all the best for the final.
