Swimming Success at the Arena League Team Finals
March 5, 2019
Sisters Isabella and Lexi Yeabsley, who are Aldenham Sports Scholars and members of Hatfield Swimming Club, competed in the prestigious Arena League A team finals in Cardiff International Pool. This national competition is held over three rounds for different age group categories where both boys and girls swim so it is a true competition of the strength of the individuals. The top 10 clubs in the country get invited to a Finals Competition in Cardiff.
Although a year younger in their teams, Isabella represented the U14 Hatfield girls’ team and Lexi the U12 team. They will hopefully be able to represent their club once again next year!
They both swam extremely well, achieving personal best times in the events that they swam and managed to help Hatfield to a fourth place finish behind Plymouth Leander, Millfield School and Guildford. This is a great achievement for a small club like Hatfield and it’s great that both Bella and Lexi played a part in the achievements of the club.
They were also delighted and exceptionally lucky to meet Adam Peaty one of their swimming heroes who signed some shirts for them and they had their photograph taken with him.
