Ecology Day 2024
June 19, 2024
This week the Geography and Biology Departments teamed up to run the inaugural ‘Year 7 Ecology Day’. It was a chance for pupils to spend some time exploring the fantastic school site to learn about the different organisms living here and there interactions with the environment. It also provided the opportunity to learn valuable fieldwork skills that will help them in their future studies of these two important subjects. To this end, pupils were able to conduct studies into the diversity of flowers and insects, as well as the impact different soil types have around the school. They also conducted Environmental Quality Surveys to judge the quality of the school and its surrounds (encouragingly the pupils all scored the school highly in this regard!). Thanks to the teachers and A Level pupils who contributed to the running of the event as well as the excellent attitude shown by all of Year 7.
