OA Society Annual Dinner - 20 November 2009

A big thank you to John Rimer for helping to arrange an excellent Aldenham.net at the Albannach Restaurant & Lounge Bar, 66 Trafalgar Square. 14 OAs, from a range of professions, came together to meet the Headmaster, Mr James Fowler, chat and exchange information. Bury St Edmunds Lunch – 14 October 2009
The Priory Hotel in Bury St Edmunds provided the perfect setting for the latest in the series of OA Regional Lunch. Sixteen OAs, two with their wives, the Headmaster, Mr James Fowler and the Development Manager, Mrs Molly Barton, swapped reminiscences and the latest news of Aldenham, whilst enjoying a delicious lunch.

OA Dinner in Kuala Lumpur – 8 July 2009
The Headmaster and his wife, took the opportunity of being in Singapore for a conference, to travel to Kuala Lumpur and were joined there by 32 OAs and guests for a splendid dinner in the Hilton Hotel. They were honoured to be joined by OA HRH the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir and his consort HRH Tunku Ampuan Besar.

OA Dinner in Singapore - 7 July 2009

OAs Nambi Viswalingam, Matthew Cobham and Mark Golding joined the Headmaster, James Fowler and his wife Dr Charlotte Fowler, for an informal dinner in Singapore. Mr Fowler was in Singapore to attend the 9th World Convention of the International Confederation of Principals 2009.
OA Day – 21 June 2009
Not only did we organise the Gaudy but we organised the weather! 143 OAs and guests gathered for a fantastic day of reminiscences and nostalgia. The day started with coffee in the glorious School House Garden. OAs were welcomed by the Headmaster, James Fowler, Riding's Housemaster, Andy Stephenson and Leeman's Housemaster, Charlie Irish.
Coffee was followed by Chapel and a service led by the Revd Dan Bond. OAs demonstrated they had not lost their appetite for hearty singing. This was followed by a reception on Shilling Green and Lunch. In the afternoon many OAs took the opportunity to visit the new theatre, which many of them had generously contributed to.
The oldest OA present, at 84, was Derick Burlingham Johnson, however Timothy Gent celebrated his 82nd birthday on OA Day.

A big thank you to Paul Haworth for hosting an excellent Aldenham.net at Battlers Green Farm Shopping Village. 14 OAs, from a range of professions, came together to chat and exchange information. Paul Haworth, Trevor Barton and Sulove Bothra gave informative short presentations on their businesses.

Axford Lunch - 20 May 2009
This was our second visit to the excellent Red Lion at Axford for another very enjoyable Regional Lunch. 13 OAs attended, enjoyed a very good lunch and heard the latest news from Aldenham from the Headmaster, James Fowler. The lunch was extended to include OAs living all the way down to Cornwall and although it was a long way to travel Peter Goodchild and John Crownshaw travelled from Devon to join the lunch.
We are planning another regional lunch in East Anglia in the Autumn. Keep your eye on the website for details.
Oxford Dinner – 16 May 2009
Choral Evensong and Old Aldenhamian Dinner at Wadham College, Oxford The choir travelled to Oxford to sing Evensong at Wadham College Oxford, led by Mr John Wyatt, Director of Music, and accompanied on the organ by his son, Mr Andrew Wyatt (OA and Organ Scholar at Birmingham Cathedral). Parents and OAs were invited to join the congregation. The Chapel was packed, and the singing was beautiful, which altogether made for a fantastic atmosphere and a very special event. Afterwards Parents and OAs commented they would like to have given a round of applause. After Evensong, OAs who had been students at Oxford, as well as members of the Richard Platt Society and OAs who live in the Oxford area, joined the Headmaster for a delicious dinner in the College Old Library. The Headmaster, Mr James Fowler, gave a toast to ‘the School and our guests' and Mr Nigel Foxell OA replied on behalf of the OAs.
Aldenham.net - 3 March 2009
Indra Sikdar (S85-90) kindly hosted a meeting of Aldenham.net at the Civil Service Club in Great Scotland Yard. OAs were joined by the Headmaster, James Fowler, and his wife Charlotte and enjoyed an evening of networking. David Sproule (M69-73), Mark Iveson (B82-84) and Antony Wood (S54-59) each gave brief and illuminating talks on their businesses. Aldenham.net is an excellent opportunity to discover the wide range of careers OAs have followed and make useful OA contacts.
