The Geography courses followed at Aldenham seek to develop individuals into making informed decisions about the consequences of their actions both locally and globally.
The courses balance the two strands of Physical and Human Geography and combine them to develop a better understanding of the world, in which terms such as "sustainability" and "global citizenship" are increasingly relevant.
The Department has five full time teachers who, despite individual specialities, take classes right across the age range. The department has its own area of the School with three dedicated classrooms. Each classroom is fully equipped with digital projectors, surround sound, and School Intranet access points. This allows Geography to become a much more real and interactive subject. There is also a Sixth form Geography library, which houses various more advanced texts, along with the seven monthly journals to which the department subscribes.
