It was a double celebration for Aldenham speech and drama students at the Watford Speech & Drama Festival held in the Watersmeet Theatre in Rickmansworth at the weekend.  Not only did a group of five of our girls beat off stiff competition from 50 other schools, mainly Drama Schools, to receive the overall prize for the most memorable performance of the Group Section but they also won the Chrystel Arts Shield for a group improvisation around the given title ‘Fair Play'. Following their success the girls have been invited back to perform their piece at the Watford Senior Final at the Pump House on 21st March.

Pupils
take Speech and Drama as a lunchtime option, where they can also take Lamda grades. Altogether 50 pupils from the Prep and Senior school will be participating in this year's Drama Festival.

Drama teacher Jo Scott said “I was thrilled to see the girls' hard work over this term pay off with such a confident performance.”
